SNORING HUMMING BIRD!!
This female Amethyst-throated Sunangel (Heliangelus amethysticollis) at a research facility in Peru is sleeping inside a device that measures its oxygen use. The machine is probably not really all that loud, but the sound was cranked up so we could hear the snoring.

Same Town, Same Fireworks Party, New Dead Birds
Remember last year, when dead blackbirds rained down in Beebe, Arkansas? They finally figured out it was because the birds were spooked by fireworks, flew out of their nests at night, hit windows and walls, etc., due to flying in the dark. (The official cause of the birds’ deaths was blunt force trauma).
Well… the same thing happened this year. But now they’re banning the fireworks.
